Windows XP Media Center Edition Screen Saver

Download the Windows XP Media Center Edition screen saver and explore the possibilities of this new multimedia operating system.

To install the Media Center Edition screen saver

1.

Click the Mcesaver.exe link in the top right corner of this page.

2.

In the File Download dialog, click Open. Then click the Yes button to install the screen saver.

Note:  This file has been zipped. You will need an unzipping program, such as WinZip, to open it. If you are using WinZip, continue to step 3, below. If you use another unzipping program, follow the instructions for unzipping files in that program. After unzipping the file, follow steps 5 and 6, below.

In the WinZip Self-Extractor dialog, click Browse to navigate to the folder in which you will put your screen saver program. Click OK.

Click Unzip, click OK, and then click Close.

5.

To install your screen saver, go to the folder where you put the Media Center Edition screen saver program and double-click Windowsxpmediacentereditionscreensaver.exe.

6.

To set Media Center Edition as your computer's screen saver, click Start, click Control Panel, click Appearance and Themes, and then click Choose a screen saver. In the Screen saver section, choose Windows XP Media Center Screen Saver from the drop-down menu and then click OK. (If you are using the Classic View of Control Panel, click Display, and then click the Screen Saver tab.)
